VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering your time! We understand that there are numerous non-profit agencies in Lebanon County that need volunteers, so we greatly appreciate that you are considering the Humane Society of Lebanon County to spend your time. The Humane Society would not be able to provide the services it does without the help of our dedicated volunteers!

Some of the many volunteer opportunities include:

  • Greeter / Adoption Assistant
  • Adoption Materials Coordinator
  • Cat Attendant & Cage Cleaner
  • Dog Kennel Assistant
  • Dog Exercise/Walker
  • Groomer
  • Adoption Follow-up
  • Dog Trainer
  • Humane Education Assistant
  • Photographers
  • Special Event / Fundraising Assistant
  • Bakers / Crafts for Fundraisers
  • Grounds and Building Maintenance
  • Web Marketing (Facebook & Twitter)
  • Thrift Shop Assistant
  • Pet Meals-on-Wheels Program
  • Animal Transport (as needed)
  • Data Entry (as needed)
  • Laundry
  • Aluminum Can Recycling

All volunteers will go through a 1-hour orientation. During this orientation you will learn basic information about the shelter and specific details on each of the above volunteer opportunities. Please fill out a Volunteer Information Form (under 18 years old or 18 years old and over) and drop it off, fax it (717-866-2782), or email volunteer@lebanonhumane.org the form to our Volunteer Coordinator. Our Volunteer Coordinator will then call you to set up an orientation date that works best for you.

As you can understand, there are certain guidelines that we need to follow due to insurance and liability reasons. We cannot accept volunteers under the age of 18 (except for high school graduation projects). Because of our insurance, minors are not permitted to handle any of the animals at any time. All volunteers must fill out a Volunteer Release Form (handed out at the orientation) and possess a valid state issued picture identification.

Please email us with any questions or with your volunteer information sheet

Thank you again for your interest in helping the animals of Lebanon County, and we look forward to meeting you soon!
