Roman
"We had Roman's first birthday party on Saturday. Our family and friends really got into the spirit of giving. As gifts, we received monetary donations and a variety of supplies for your organization. The kids had a blast pretending to be puppies and kittens after getting transformed at our "grooming station". We even had a stuffed animal "adoption-station" so each child could take a furry friend home. Having the party benefit the Humane Society helped us create a "purr-fect" party theme!" April and Roman

The girls had taken a vote and decided they wanted to donate this year to the Humane Society. They took $100 from their cookie sales and went shopping for the animals! Thank you girls for your wonderful gifts!

Ashlie Haag
My name is Ashlie Haag and I am a 4th grade teacher at Cornwall Elementary. I believe strongly that reading helps a student achieve academic success. In addition, I believe strongly that children should understand the importance in giving rather than always receiving a physical prize for doing well. With that said, I started a new reading program in my classroom called "Read 500 Minutes to help the Humane Society". This program was started after their holiday break in December 2010. In this program, every time a student reads 500 minutes I purchase either a bag of dog food, cat food, or cat litter. The item is then placed in our classroom humane society box. Once the box is filled, I drop off all of the food/litter that the children read for. I found this program to be a rewarding success. The students are reading and cheering on their fellow classmates to help the animals. Our classroom made a donation on February 19th. The donation consisted of 3 bags of dog food, 3 bags of cat food and 2 bags of litter. Our last donation was on March 5th and the donation consisted of 3 bags of dog food, 1 bag of cat food and 1 bag of litter. I hope by sharing our success in our new reading program that you to will share the joy of their reading success and their gift to want to help the animals.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Ashlie Haag

Cameron Chenail
Cameron Chenail and everyone in her big extended family have adopted many shelter animals and rescued many strays over the years. Cameron's cat, Fuzzer, and her sister Templin's cat, Lilly, were shelter cats, and her Mom's cat, Katie, is a rescued stray. Also, her Aunt Shell used to raise dogs who guided people with visual impairments, and her Great Grandmother, Helen, was a wonderful friend to animals and an assistant vice president of the Lebanon County Humane Society many years ago. When Cameron invited her friends to her 12th birthday party last July, she asked them to bring donations for the animals at the Humane Society instead of gifts for her. Her friends were happy to do that (It's easy to shop for shelter animals!), and Cameron later visited the shelter to deliver her friends' gifts to the animals. We're proud to see Cameron continue her family's tradition of caring for animals.

Tyra Craun
Tyra Craun is 11 years old. She is currently a 5th grade student at South Lebanon Elementary with a kind heart. This year for her birthday she wanted to invite friends to the shelter and asked her friends to donate food or money to the Humane Society. Everyone had an excellent time! Tyra and her mother Janell mentioned that the shelter staff was so friendly and helpful! Thank you to Tyra and her friends for their generosity and their love of animals!
Katie Davis
Katie Davis decided that she wanted to help the animals at the humane society, so she collected donations for her 7th birthday this year. WOW! We were just amazed at the amount of wonderful donations that they kept bringing into the office! Katie was almost buried in dog food, cat food, and lots of great pet supplies. Thank you so much Katie. You are a wonderful young lady and the animals thank you for your love and support!
Courtney Brandt
In October 2009 Courtney Brandt and her family adopted a cat from the Lebanon Humane Society. Courtney decided that she wanted to somehow help all the other animals that are still looking for their forever home. So she and her mother came up with the idea to accept donations at her upcoming 10th birthday, instead of accepting gifts. Courtney collected quite a wonderful selection of both dog and cat food! Thank you so much Courtney! Your donation will certainly help the animals that are still waiting for a home.
Tyler Bradley
“After visiting the shelter recently on a group trip, Tyler Bradley was saddened to see all of the many animals that were still waiting to be adopted here at the Humane Society. Tyler’s 9th birthday was coming up and he decided he wanted to make a difference in the lives of these animals waiting for adoption. So instead of asking for gifts at his birthday party, Tyler asked for donations to the shelter…. and collected $100! How wonderful! Thank you so much Tyler for your kindness!”
Ashley Peters
Ashley Peters recently celebrated her 11th birthday! Happy Birthday Ashley!
