Current Conditions
Cat overcrowding is a major problem at the Shelter, and a dated ventilation system permits the transmission of upper respiratory infections.
Our dog kennels and runs are often too small, with long use requiring repair. More kennels would allow us to keep up with a growing demand of stray dogs and surrenders.
We have very little storage space to house all the food and supplies needed to care for our growing population of animals. We also need a much larger area to store our donations.
Our laundry facilities cannot handle the enormous number of blankets, towels, cat pads, etc. that are washed and dried daily. More space and more washers and driers are needed.
Many items throughout the Shelter are worn and weathered and in desperate need of improvements.
Due to lack of storage space for pet carriers, cages, blankets, pet beds and larger donations, these items are overflowing into other areas of the Shelter.
