HSLC004483A - Oliver is an adult neutered male Lab mix found as a stray in early April. Why Oliver has not yet been adopted is a mystery! He is super playful and has the most heart-warming smile. Oliver acts like a goofball when you see him in his kennel, but please don't pass him by. When you get him out and he can stretch his legs, he's a true sweetheart! Oliver knows sit and down. He is just SO affectionate and loves to lean on you and have his belly scratched. He is wonderful with older children... very small children he may knock over with his goofy energy! Oliver will definitely need lots of exercise because he is a big, exuberant boy. Oliver will do best as an only dog. And no cats. See Oliver's new video.
UPDATE: Two anonymous donors have given Oliver a special gift. One person has paid the adoption fee for anyone that chooses Oliver. Another wonderful donor paid for two (2) free one-on-one training sessions with trainer Tammy Sickles from Palmyra. More information will be given upon adoption.
HSLC005319A - Foster is a neutered senior Lab / Chow mix found as a stray in mid July. Foster is a very happy, friendly, and playful boy. You'd never know he was a senior except that he is getting gray in the face. Foster gives kisses, LOVES scratches, and is a leaner! He needs some leash work but we think he's just so excited to be out and about and going for a walk! Foster is a great dog and will make someone very happy! See Foster's Video!
HSLC005318A - Pepper is a senior neutered male Lab mix found as a stray in mid July. Pepper is a wonderful dog! He gives kisses, likes to be brushed, and is great when getting his daily eye medication. Pepper is super easygoing and just seems to love going for walks and being around people. Please give Pepper a chance. This guy will be a fantastic pet! ADOPTED!
HSLC005638A - Henry is an adult male pit bull found as a stray in early October. Henry sits on command and loves to take walks. But he is a puller and will need some leash work and lots of play time to expend all that terrier energy. Henry is very friendly and playful, and he has the neatest brindle markings! Just a cool dog! Henry will need to be the only dog in the house.
HSLC005842A - Chuck Norris is an adult male pit bull found as a stray in mid November. Chuck is a gorgeous dog! He is a very big, strong boy with lots of terrier energy. Chuck will definitely need some training and leash work. He will also need a nice yard or lots of walks and play time to help him expend all that goofy energy. ADOPTED!
HSLC058920A - Moe is an adult male Labrador Retriever found as a stray in mid December. Moe is a very handsome, stocky, typical looking Black Lab. He is very excited and has lots of lab energy. Moe will need some basic training, but he's pretty good on a leash for such a big goofy boy.
HSLC006018A - Lucy is a young female Labrador Retriever mix found as a stray in early January. Lucy is just SO funny and a blast to play with! She is ALL puppy energy with a splash of goofball mixed in! Lucy is very loving and sits on command. She will of course need basic training and lots of walks and playtime to keep this exuberant puppy nice and tired! A tired dog is a good dog! But we can tell that Lucy is very intelligent, so she will catch on quickly with a schedule and consistent commands. Come down to the shelter and meet our cool pup Lucy! ADOPTED!
HSLC006013A - Rosie is an adult female pit bull mix found as a stray in mid January. Rosie is such a funny girl... she is just so happy and gleeful when she gets out of her kennel and goes for a walk. She absolutely adores playing with sticks and grunts like a little piggie when you give her scratches! Rosie will need some basic training and some structure in her new home, but her sweet personality will definitely melt your heart... so please take just a moment to meet this sweet girl! ADOPTED!
HSLC006054A - Scrappy is a 7 month old male Chihuahua surrendered to the shelter in early February. Scrappy is a bit timid here at the shelter, with all the loud noises and barking dogs. He will do best in a home without small children. Scrappy has previously lived with cats, walks well on a leash , and is super adorable and little. He will definately need a calm home with a quiet family willing to work with him on his confidence. ADOPTED!
HSLC005644A - Sadie is a 3 year old spayed female Shepherd mix (small) returned to the shelter in February because the owners said Sadie and the neighbor's dog did not get along. So poor Sadie is now back at the shelter looking for a new home. Sadie is a little aloof, but she really does like scratches and taking long walks. Please take a moment to come and spend a little time with this adorable girl!
HSLC006083A - Butch is an adult male Lab mix brought to the shelter in early January. Butch is SO happy-go-lucky, he loves attention and scratches, loves taking walks and sits on command. He is big boy and just has the greatest time playing in the snow. Butch is a great dog, so please come and meet him.
HSLC006085A - Sunny is an adult female Shepherd mix found as a stray in late January. If you look into Sunny's sad eyes, you can see she has had a hard life. This big girl is definitely not faring well here at the shelter... she is scared and timid and will definitely need a quiet, calm home and someone to help her work on her confidence. Sunny will need some leash work and some extra love and treats. Speaking of treats, she is SO gentle when taking her treats from your hand. We truly think Sunny has potential and we are crossing our fingers that she will find a home soon!
HSLC006092A - Juno is an adult female pit bull found as a stray in early February. Juno sits on command and walks well on a leash. She is such an even-tempered, sensitive dog. She even takes treats like a perfect little lady. Juno definitely had puppies in her past by the looks of her droopy belly. But she now is free from that life, and will hopefully be adopted into a wonderful home where she can be the center of attention! ADOPTED!
HSLC006097A - Nala is a senior female bulldog mix found as a stray in early February. Nala is a gem! She is perfect walking on a leash, she is gentle and very calm, she sits on command, and is an all around sweet, loving girl. Please come to the shelter and meet this wonderful girl, Nala!
HSLC005973A - Fancy is an adult female Lhasa Apso mix returned to the shelter because her owner was not prepared to own a dog yet. This sweet girl is just adorable! She has been crate trained and will most likely need to continue to use a crate in her new home. Fancy may have some separation anxiety when you leave her by herself, so lots of treats and toys will work wonders for helping her through that. This little girl needs a great new home willing to work with her and love her forever.
HSLC006016A - Noah is an adult male Pomeranian found as a stray in January. Noah is a hoot! He is so full of himself that he truly believes he is a Great Dane! Noah struts along and tries to hold his own with the big dogs! Noah is fine with being held and loves going on walks. You'll need to keep him on a leash at all times, because Noah tends to run for the hills if left off leash. But Noah is just a doll and will make someone a great pet!
HSLC006091A - Angel is a 6 year old spayed female Blue Heeler surrendered to the shelter because she was not getting along with the children in the home. Poor Angel is very shy, and most likely children are too much for her to handle. She will definitely need a quiet, calm home, no children, and someone willing to work with her and love her. Angel is a small, adorable girl, and she definitely has bonded with some of the employees at the shelter, so we know for sure that, with time and love, she will bond with the person that chooses her!
HSLC006144A - Gordon is a fabulous adult male Lab mix found as a stray in mid February. Gordon is a very big, lovable boy! He sits on command and is just a fun-loving, playful big guy! Gordon is strong and LOVES to take walks, so will need a little leash work, but he's just so excited to be out and about, getting attention! Please come and meet this cool dog, Gordon.
HSLC006166A - Max is a 2 year old male Labrador Retriever surrendered to the shelter because his family didn't have enough time for him. Sweet Max is a doll! He has lots of happy Labrador energy and will need some leash work, but Max is just a super playful and sociable guy! Max will need a gentle hand and lots of love and treats. He sometimes winces with certain hand movements so we want him to always know that he will only be loved and hugged for the rest of his life!
